Who we are
Bowlitaire is a bowling game made by IYBMSB LLC. This policy covers the Bowlitaire app and the online service behind its Daily boards, progress backup and purchases.
What we collect
- A random account id, created the first time you use an online feature.
- If you sign in: the Apple or Google account id, and the email address the provider shares with us (Apple may give a private relay address).
- If you sign in: the sign-in tokens the provider issues, kept to keep you signed in and to revoke access when you delete your account.
- If you sign in with Apple: an Apple refresh token, stored only to revoke Bowlitaire's access to your Apple ID when you delete your account. It is deleted with the account.
- Your bowler name.
- Gameplay data: the rolls (pins knocked down by each ball) and score of each Daily and Full game, and the date and time each game was started and submitted.
- A backup of your game progress, if you are signed in.
- Purchases: which in-app purchases you made, and the store's transaction id for each. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, also holds your purchase history and the account id (its "app user id") that we give it.
- Coins, boosters and your remaining daily ad allowances.
We do not store your IP address or device type, your Apple or Google display name or picture, your location or contacts. Our own servers do not store advertising ids.
Ads
Bowlitaire shows ads from Google AdMob. Some are optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch for coins, a daily booster or a Continue, and some appear between levels. You can remove the ads between levels with a purchase.
- **What AdMob collects:** when an ad loads, Google receives your IP address (which gives a rough location), your device and app details, how you interact with the ad (shown, clicked, watched to the end), and, for rewarded ads, our random account id, so we can confirm a rewarded ad was watched. This is how ads are served, measured and kept from fraud.
- **Advertising identifier:** if you are 16 or older and you allow it, Google and its advertising partners may use your device's advertising identifier to show personalised ads. On iPhone, without your permission (Apple's tracking prompt), ads are not personalised and the advertising identifier is not used. On Android, the advertising ID is used only as Google's consent settings allow, and never to personalise ads for players under 16.
- **Google's consent form:** where the law requires it (the European Economic Area and the UK), Google shows a consent form the first time an ad is requested. You can change your choice at any time in Profile, under Ads & privacy.
- **Apple's tracking prompt:** on iPhone, if you are 16 or older, Apple asks whether Bowlitaire may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you say no, ads are not personalised. We do not ask this question at launch, only when the first ad is about to load.
- **Younger players:** at the start the app asks for your birth year. If you are under 13, ads are treated as child-directed: they are limited to a general-audience (G) rating, are never personalised, and you are not shown the tracking prompt. If you are 13 to 15, ads are treated as being for users under the age of consent, are never personalised, and you are not shown the tracking prompt.
- **Your birth year** is stored only on your device. It is not sent to our servers and is not part of your cloud backup. If you delete the app, it is gone.
We do not give Google your name, email or scores, and we do not share them with advertisers.
Why we collect it
To run the Daily boards, to check that scores are real (we replay your rolls on our server), to restore your progress, to credit your purchases and rewarded ads once, and to moderate names.
What other players see
Your bowler name, your Daily score and your rank on the boards. Nothing else.
Sharing
Cloudflare hosts the service. Apple and Google handle sign-in. RevenueCat processes purchases for us. Google AdMob serves ads (see Ads above). We do not sell your data and we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites ourselves; advertising partners may do so only where you have allowed it.
How long we keep it
Until you delete your account. Unfinished game starts are removed after 36 hours. After deletion we keep only a one-way hash and row counts, indefinitely, to prove the deletion happened, and the store transaction ids of purchases (with no account attached) so a purchase can never be credited twice. RevenueCat and Google keep their own records under their own policies.
Your choices
Delete your account in the app (Profile, Account, Delete account) or from the /delete page. You can change your name. You can play offline without an account. You can change your ad choices in Profile, under Ads & privacy, and turn off Apple's tracking permission in your iPhone's Settings.
Children
Bowlitaire is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If a player says they are under 13, ads are limited and never personalised, as described under Ads. Players under 18 should use the app with a parent's or guardian's permission.
